Month of the Military Child
JBPHH April Events!

Every April, we celebrate our military children who face unique challenges, such as changing schools and support networks every two to three years and extended separation from loved ones. To all our military children: thank you for all the sacrifices you make! Let's celebrate with a month of fun and exciting events dedicated to our children.

• FREE MOVIE SHOWINGS at Sharkey Theater! 
  • Don't miss FREE movies on our big screen every Saturday in April at 2:30 p.m with your favorites snacks for sale at the Snack Bar. No advanced tickets or reservations required. Seating is first come, first served.
    • April 6 - Kung Fu Panda
    • April 13 - Zootopia​
    • April 20 - The Super Mario Bros
    • April 27 - Encanto 
       
• Now - April 12: Arts & Crafts Youth Art Showcase. Calling all youth artists! The theme is "Home is..." Create art reflecting your concept of "Home." Participants can depict various locations, relationships, pets, memories, or a captured moment in their pieces. (Art drop off is located in the gallery and offered Tuesday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Join us for a special Gallery Reception on April 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided during the showing!
• April 1-30 (Mondays-Thursdays):  Kids Bowl Free at Hickam Bowling Center (1-5 p.m.). Parents, bring your young bowler for some bonding, afternoon fun during the week.  For every paid adult game, kids 12 and under get one free game.  Shoe rental is included too.  Limit one free child game per paid adult game. 
• April 3-4 (Wednesdays):  Month of the Military Child Craft Sale at Hickam Arts & Crafts Center.  In honor and celebration of our military children, the sales store is offering 20% off all kids crafts on Wednesdays for the month of April. 
• Saturday, April 13: Purple Party Storytime at JBPHH Library (11 a.m.) Join us for crafts, activities, and storytime fun to celebrate the Month of the Military Child.
• Friday, April 19:  Youth Art Showcase Gallery Reception at Hickam Arts & Crafts Center (5:30-7 p.m.)  Calling all youth artists!  We want to help you showcase your artistic talents.  You have until Friday, April 12 to submit your art piece to the gallery (open Tue-Fri from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). This year's theme  is "Home is..."  Create art reflecting the concept of "home".  You can depict various locations, relationships, pets, memories or even captured moments.
• April 20 & 27: Fit 4 Victory FREE Wellness, Fitness & Resilience Workshop at Makai Recreation Center. This FREE workshop offers engaging fitness activities where kids will participate martial arts lessons and fun exercises to build strength, endurance, and overall fitness. Parent participation is encourage. Sessions will be held on April 20 for youth ages five through 9, and on April 27 for ages 10 through 15. Register by calling (808) 379-5084.
• Friday, April 26: Float Night at Scott Pool (5-7 p.m.) Hop in the pool and enjoy a relaxing float night with FREE ice cream (while supplies last). Patrons are welcome to bring a single-person float to use freely in the pool. 
• Enjoy a 20% discount on all kids' crafts every Wednesday in April at the Arts & Crafts Sales Store!
• Tuesday, April 30: Wright Brothers Cafe & Grill. Enjoy one FREE kids' meal with the purchase of an adult meal, valid all day. 
• Weekly Prize Giveaways at ITT! Visit the ITT Fleet or NEX office and ask for a Month of the Military Child door prize ticket. (For children up to 17 years old). Prizes include movie tickets, free food, bowling shoe rentals and more! Our winning ticket will be drawn at 4 p.m. every Friday and winners will be contacted the following Monday.
