Child Development Centers
Aloha and Welcome to the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Child Development Centers!
Our centers are designed to be a home away from home for children of working parents while providing a safe, healthy learning environment where children ages 6 weeks to 5 years (not in kindergarten) can discover, explore and learn about the world around them. Our creative curriculum is used to promote your child's physical, cognitive, social, emotional and language development.
Our philosophy is that children learn through play. Our highest goal is to provide a safe, healthy, caring environment that encourages growth in discipline, self-control and respect for other’s rights. This is accomplished by setting clear, consistent limits, applying logical consequences, modeling acceptable behaviors and by using mistakes as learning opportunities.
We offer both Full Time and Hourly Care to military, DoD Civilians, and Contractors. Full Time Care is based on family income. Hourly Care is provided through CDC, CDH, and School Age Programs. Hourly care is $7 an hour.
Given the demands placed on military families, the need for occasional care can be particularly relevant. Because hourly care can be used in any situation and for any reason, it helps you when you need care other than full-time care.
Reserve hourly child care for: Doctor Visits, Job Interviews, Personal Needs (running errands, occasional "Me Time" or Date Nights), Illnesses, Emergency Situations, Hourly care is offered during normal operating hours when children are present.
Also, in our Programs that serve meals, our Programs offer, at no additional charge, USDA approved meals. Monthly menus and USDA Information are posted in our Programs on the Parent Information Boards.
