Salary Negotiations – Discussing money is uncomfortable for some and not so difficult for others. However, the same goes for many that we may be unsure about how to approach and guide the conversation when discussing our salary and/or benefits. This class guides you on how to look at negotiations so you won’t be so apprehensive about it, where to find the foundational information you need to bring to the negotiation table, how to start the conversation and what to do if the conversation doesn’t go the way you expected. We’ve got it covered so you don’t have to stress about it.
LinkedIn– Learn how to create your profile to capitalize off LinkedIn professional networking. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how employers are taking advantage of the business and employment oriented social network to assist in networking, recruiting, and hiring. This class will demonstrate building your professional profile and summary, utilizing the job search functions, marketing yourself to LinkedIn recruiters, strengthening your network, and leveraging the LinkedIn resources to your advantage.
In-Dependents Overview – A class for high school graduates (or those preparing to graduate) and a parent to attend together. We try to schedule the class during a public school holiday or break so you don’t miss any class time. That’s because we’re nice like that! In this class, topics such as money management, health insurance, employment, planning towards higher education and other subjects are discussed. These are important to military dependents and should be addressed before you leave the nest. Come find out what you may not have thought you needed to think about. You don’t know what you don’t know until you wish you knew! There is a lot to learn for both the parent and the student, so we love to see the family attend together. We hope to “see” you there. Come and join us so you can start out on your best foot. “Adulting” is hard enough, we want to help alleviate some of the difficulty.
Military Spouse Employment Boot Camp – A half-day workshop JUST for spouses where we cover the “basics” (get the joke in the title?) of employment! Training includes civilian and federal resumes, job searching, career exploration, interviewing, salary negotiations, and more! It’s an overview of all of our employment classes in one sitting geared specifically towards the spouses for a change. We promise you an informational and fun experience.
