Unsure about what level your swimmer is in? Check out this guide for some help assessing their skill level.

SwimBabies Overview
Starfish Swim Academy's SwimBabies program is designed to teach parents how to introduce their infants and toddlers (6 months to 3 years old) to the water in a safe and positive way. These classes focus on educating parents about water safety, how to support their children's comfortability in the water, and the basics of swim readiness. Parents actively participate in every lesson by learning fundamental skills through songs, games, and activities.

The primary goal is to empower parents with the tools and knowledge to foster their child's confidence and safety around the water. By emphasizing trust-building and water acclimation, the program helps parents create positive, lifelong associations with swimming while instilling essential safety habits at an early age.

Swim School White Level Overview ⬜
White Level is designed to prepare swimmers to confidently begin their journey in the water. This level focuses on building comfort, trust, and basic water safety skills while introducing foundational swimming techniques. Participants learn how to enter and exit the pool, and achieve a relaxed body position in the water. These skills help swimmers feel secure and ready to progress to more advanced levels.

White level ensures swimmers develop readiness for swimming by fostering confidence and a positive relationship with water. Through engaging activities and instructor support, participants gain the foundational skills needed for safety swimming while building trust in their own abilities in the water.

Swim School Red Level 🟥
The Red Level at Starfish Swim Academy focuses on teaching foundational swimming skills, specifically body position and air exchange. This level, swimmers learn how to achieve balanced horizontal body position in the water (on front and back), which is all essential for efficient movement. Breath Control
will also be introduced to breath control and air exchange techniques. This includes bowling bubbles and lifting their head to breathe, which sets the groundwork for future swim strokes.

Red Level emphasizes comfort and control in the water, ensuring swimmers feel confident as they practice these skills. Through guided instruction and repetition, participants build the muscle memory needed to maintain proper body alignment and rhythmic breathing.

Swim School Yellow Level 🟨
The Yellow Level at Starfish Swim Academy focuses on developing forward movement and direction change in the water. At this level, swimmers learn how to propel themselves using coordinated arm and leg movements, building the foundation for basic strokes. They also practice changing direction in the water, which enhances their control and agility. These skills are essential for both recreational swimming and water safety.

The primary goal is to emphasize confidence and independence, encouraging swimmers to explore movement while maintaining proper body position and balance. Through guided practice and fun activities, participants gain the ability to move effectively and transition smoothly between different swimming directions, preparing them for more advanced techniques in future levels.

Swim School Blue Level 🟦
Blue Level focuses on teaching swimmers how to streamline their body for efficient movement and introduces side breathing techniques. Swimmers learn to achieve a tight, streamlined position, reducing drag and making their movements through the water more effective. This skill is fundamental for developing proper swim strokes and improving overall speed and efficiency.

Participants are introduced to side-breathing, a critical component of freestyle. They practice turning their head to the side to breathe while maintaining body alignment and forward momentum. The combination of streamlining and side-breathing positions equips swimmers with the tools to swim longer distances with ease and prepares them for advanced stroke development in higher levels.

Swim School Green Level 🟩
Green Level focuses on developing water competency, ensuring swimmers can handle themselves safely and confidently in the water. At this level, participants refine their swim strokes and practice essential skills like treading water, floating, and swimming longer distances. These skills are designed to equip swimmers with the ability to navigate water safely, even in challenging situations.

This level places an emphasis on both safety and endurance, helping swimmers build the strength and confidence needed to respond effectively in emergencies. By mastering these critical skills, participants not only become proficient swimmers but also gain the ability to enjoy water activities independently and responsibly.

Intermediate Stroke School
Intermediate stroke school focuses on teaching the fundamentals of freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke. Through skill-building exercises, swimmers will improve their technique, endurance, and overall stroke efficiency. This level is designed for swimmers who are ready to learn the fundamental three strokes and refine skills.

Advanced Stroke School
Advanced Stroke School is designed for students to master sidestroke, butterfly, and breaststroke techniques. Through focused instruction and practice, participants refine their skills, improve efficiency, speed, and overall performance in the water. This level ensures efficiency and enhances competitive swimming capabilities.
