Your Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), the commands and family support groups combine their resources to present a truly unforgettable pier-side Aloha. We are proud to support Project Homecoming for home-ported commands returning from four-month (or more) deployments.
"Homecoming can seem so far away that it will never happen, even though it's on your mind every day," said one Sailor's wife. "You spend the first three months trying to adjust to them being gone, then one day you wake up and realize they're going to be back soon. It's time to start preparing banners, buy new clothes, clean the house and plan favorite meals. The reunion is almost better than the day you got married! You see each other in the best light. The romance is fresh and exciting, without the burden of daily issues."
Pearl Harbor is a unique homeport for many Sailors and their families, where local traditions are eagerly adopted. If your Sailor is deployed for four months or more, we encourage your Ombudsmen or commands to contact us. Along with MWR, contributing sponsors* participate in this meaningful event. For more information, call (808) 422-7169.
