Welcome to your JBPHH Transition Assistance Program!
Every year, approximately 200,000 men and women leave U.S. military service and return to life as civilians, a process known as the military-to-civilian transition. The Department of Defense (DoD) Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides information, tools, and training to ensure service members and their families are prepared for the next step in civilian life.
The mandatory components of TAP are applicable for all service members who have at least 180 continuous days or more on active duty; this includes National Guard and Reserve. These components include:
- Step 1: Individualized Initial Counseling (IC)
- Step 2: 3-day TAP workshop, and a 2-day service member elected track workshop
- Step 3: Capstone
