The Military and Family Support Center combines the old Pearl Harbor Fleet & Family Support and Hickam Airman & Family Readiness Centers into one organized center. We provide unified, customer-focused programs, classes, and services to support our JBPHH community including active duty, reserve, retired personnel, family members, and DoD employees (except as noted in the program descriptions.) There is no charge for classes unless otherwise specified ($). Schedules are subject to change.

FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM
Provides education programs to promote understanding and awareness of risk factors and dynamics of child and domestic abuse to commands, individuals, couples, families and community groups. Provides immediate intervention, safety and support to victims, as well as behavioral education and counseling to offenders to reduce or eliminate the risk of future abuse.

The State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) is a regulatory agency that promotes a strong and healthy business environment by upholding fairness and public confidence in the marketplace. The department also strives to increase knowledge and opportunity for businesses and individuals and to protect consumers against unfair and deceptive business practices.
This military consumer guide was created to equip Hawaii’s service members and their families with information as the first line of defense against fraud. The guide will also enable our military community to make better and informed decisions when managing their money.
Hawaii is home to 47,000 active duty service members and 5,500 National Guard personnel—many of whom face unique challenges due to redeployments and permanent change of stations. With such a large population of transient consumers, there is the unfortunate likelihood of targeted fraud or unfamiliarity with state laws for these service members and their families.
This booklet seeks to offer comprehensive guidelines to protect oneself from fraudulent activities and provide the necessary information to live and work in the State of Hawaii. Information about various issues and consumer topics that often affect our military community are highlighted within. Some topics that will be covered are those about housing, buying a car, payday lending, identity theft and more. We also cover the laws created for our military families involving a professional license in Hawaii and give you the steps required to start your own business.

MILITARY ONE SOURCE
A 24-hour, 7-days-a-week, toll-free information and referral telephone service provided by the Department of Defense. Provides information ranging from everyday concerns to deployment-related issues. In addition, Military One Source provides on-line, telephonic, and face-to-face counseling for free. Individuals are allowed 12 sessions per issue. In addition, you can visit Military OneSource via the website for information on a variety of topics and issues. Users may also use the Web site to order educational materials (booklets, CDs, etc.) at no charge and access consultants online on a 24/7 basis.

NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY
Provides assistance with basic living expenses, emergency transportation, funerals, medical bills, essential car repairs, pay problems, and other emergency needs. Assistance is provided in the form of interest-free loans and/or grants, depending on financial need and type of assistance rendered. In addition to financial assistance, NMCRS also provides many valuable services. These services include baby budget classes for new and expectant parents, a Visiting Nurse Program, a layette program, as well as a thrift shop at Pearl Harbor.

NAVY SAFE HARBOR
The Navy's organization for coordinating the non-medical care of seriously wounded, ill, and injured Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families. The program provides a lifetime of individually tailored assistance designed to optimize the success of shipmates' recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration activities. PEOPLE ATTENTIVE TO CHILDREN (PATCH)
Provides families with information and resources needed when looking for quality care for their children. They support the professional development of caregivers through training. They provide data and services to the community to maximize the quality of the caregiving experience. Respite care assistance is also provided for active duty and activated Reserve Navy families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).

USO HAWAII
Provide support to the military and their families arriving to, departing from, or transiting through the state of Hawaii. VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA) BENEFITS OFFICE
VA Benefits Briefers provide weekly VA briefings to transitioning Service members, Veterans, and dependents as part of the Transition GPS program. The briefings provide participants an opportunity to learn about VA benefits and services they may be eligible to receive and the process to apply for those benefits.
Additionally, Briefers are available to meet individually and provide assistance to transitioning Service members, Veterans and spouses regarding VA benefits and services, including information on education, disability compensation, home loan guarantee, life insurance, and health care.

WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federally funded program that provides nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion, and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children up to age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk.
