  • 4th of July Weekend sponsored by USAA – Celebrate the birth of America with MWR.  Here’s a list of the fun events happening all weekend, with possibly more to come!  With so many things, there’s something for everyone!  All events listed below are tentative and are subject to change without notice
    • June 30-July 12:  Patriotic Light Up at Building 150.  In celebration of our country’s spirit, this building along one of our main roads will be lit up in patriotic colors at sunset every day during these dates. 
    • July 1:  Pick up your FREE Uncle Sam Craft Kit from the JBPHH Library, whle supplies last. 
    • July 1-4:  House Decorating Contest.  Dress up your home in patriotic colors to show your spirit and possibly win prizes! 
    • July 2:  7421 Foot Race at Earhart Track and Quick Field.  Timed runs in heats 
    • July 2:  Patriotic Colored Pin Special at Hickam Bowling Center from 2-5 p.m. 
    • July 3:  Great Navy Campout at Hickam Beach.  Camping and a beach side movie right on base.  Registration required for camping. 
    • July 3:  Patriotic Parade through JBPHH. Sign up to be part of the march. 
    • July 3:  Liberty Video Game Tournament, 5-9 p.m. at Liberty Center in Club Pearl 
    • July 3:   Family Dog Show at Hickam Arts & Crafts Center from 10:30 a.m. -12 p.m. 
    • July 3 and 4:  Drive, Chip, Putt competition at Mamala Bay Golf Course 
    • July 4:  Patriotic Colored Pin Special at Pier Side Bowling Center from 12-4 p.m. 
    • July 4:  Home Run Derby at Ward Field 
    • July 4:  Closest to the pin golf contest at Navy-Marine Golf Course 
    • July 4:  FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR at 8:30 p.m.  Find your favorite spot and enjoy the amazing pyrotechnic show 
    • July 5:  2-person Golf Tournament at Mamala Bay Golf Course 
    • July 5:  High Adventure at the Outdoor Adventure Center.  Climbing and rappelling.  Registration opens June 5 

Arts & Crafts

  • Summer Craft Camps
    • Camps run Tuesday- Friday 10am-12 noon, different projects each week. 
    • Sessions start June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and July 6, 13, 20, 27  
  • New Watercolor Class Taught by Master Artist Jimmy Tablante
    • Learn Watercolor from a master artist, 6 week sessions
    • Sessions start May 1, June 12, July 24, Sept 4
  • 3rd of July Family Dog Show (Sponsored by USAA)
    • July 3, 10:30am-12pm 
    • Think your dog is best in show? Come show us!
    • Prizes will be awarded for dogs with the most patriotic costumes, most obedient, owner/ dog look alikes and best tricks!  
  • Youth Art Showcase
    • Spotlight your talented keiki in this FREE Art Showcase!
    • Artwork, crafts, photography and digital creations accepted from youth 6-18 years old 
    • Submissions will be accepted at the Arts & Crafts Sales Store from June 15- August 14

Single Service Members (Liberty)

  • Liberty Climbing Club
    • Every Thursday, 4:30 p.m. @ Outdoor Adventure Center
    • Calling single sailors and airmen!  Every Thursday afternoon MWR’s Liberty program has the Outdoor Adventure Center for exclusive use. You can be part of the club for only $10 per month.  Get training on the proper use of rock climbing gear.  Test yourself on the Alpine Tower and Rock Wall.  Join your fellow shipmates and airmen on a new and unique way to get fit and have fun at the same time.  Call 808-422-7169 for more information.

    • Classes meet once a week for 4 weeks
      Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday between the times 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm | Ages 4+ | $152

  • Great Navy Camp Out/ Movie in the Park (Sponsored by Tmobile)
    • Join us at Hickam Harbor for camping by the beach, a pre-celebration for the Fourth of July! We will host a movie on the beach beginning around 7:30 p.m. on July 3. Movie: TBD. Register for camping at the Hickam Harbor Marina. Note: Camping registration is not required to watch movie.

  • Moonlight Paddle at Hickam Harbor
    • What better way to melt the day-to-day stress than to join us for an evening paddle?  As the moon lights our way across the water, enjoy the company of the group and the stillness of the water, and let our guides lead the way. Trip includes all required gear. Some kayak paddling experience required. Bring water and dry clothes to change into after the activity. For ages 16 & up.
