ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE ON THE ISLAND OF OAHU

***Applicants for this position must be available to work Monday through Friday; operations cease on the weekends and all Federal holidays***

This position is located at the Unaccompanied Housing (UH) operation at Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam, Hawaii. The purpose of this position is to provide inventory management support to the UH program.

QUALIFICATIONS – To be considered eligible for this position, your application must include documented work experience of the following: 

  • Minimum of one year of work experience that demonstrates incumbent has a thorough knowledge of inventory and purchasing procedures, using computerized record keeping systems.
  • Familiarity with proper work methods and basic safety procedures, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and capable of meeting all environmental/industrial hygiene requirements.
  • Expertise in one or more automated supply data bases to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports and to structure and retrieve specialized reports.
  • Professional knowledge of the UH organization, administration, policies/procedures, and supervisory practices in conducting day-to-day operations.
  • Basic math/reading skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Must be proficient with a calculator and computer software (word processing and spreadsheet).
  • The work at this level requires knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned.
  • Possession of a valid state driver license, as travel to other facilities on the base may be required within the normal scope of duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Major duties and responsibilities required by the applicant include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The ability to perform strenuous labor such as unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying up to 45 pounds is required. Assisted lifting, moving and carrying up to 100 pounds may be required.
  • Ability to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, and a variety of repetitive motions.
  • Responsible for inventory supplies, furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) and other amenities in support of the operation.
  • Prepare purchase request forms/documents for approval and place orders for APF purchases, where appropriate.
  • Maintains assigned storeroom and is required to maintain a minimum of 98% accuracy. Documents stock record cards and update them for receipts and issues.
  • Receives items and forwards documentation of receipt to the UH Purchasing or Procurement Office.
  • Issues supplies and amenities to authorized staff members.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator’s license.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: Using the qualifications of the position, a predetermined Ranking and Rating Criteria of knowledge, skills and abilities will be used for each application.  Applicants who do not meet the qualifications required will not be interviewed, and interviews may be limited to best qualified applicants.
