This position is located at the Unaccompanied Housing (UH) operation at Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam, Hawaii. The incumbent will manage daily warehouse operations to include the accuracy and accountability of the Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FF&E) inventory for the UH program.
QUALIFICATIONS – To be considered eligible for this position, your application must include documented work experience of the following:
- Knowledge of supply and inventory procedures, techniques, and operations gained through either applicable formal education, or two years’ work experience related to inventory management is required.
- Must understand the daily operations of the UH Operations to include: safety, environmental and fire prevention regulations and practices; UH management procedures; and front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance operating principles and practices; and have a working knowledge of automated inventory management systems.
- Must understand and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures, computerized record keeping and inventory management and have a good working knowledge of basic accounting.
- Professional knowledge of a lodging organization, administration, policies/procedures, and supervisory practices in conducting day-to-day operations.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and fluent command of the English language, understand and use proper grammar, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be proficient with a calculator and computer software (word processing and spreadsheet).
- Possession of a valid state driver license, as travel to other facilities on the base may be required within the normal scope of duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Major duties and responsibilities required by the applicant include, but are not limited to, the following:
- The ability to perform strenuous labor such as unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying up to 45 pounds is required. Assisted lifting, moving and carrying up to 100 pounds may be required.
- Ability to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, and a variety of repetitive motions. May be required to climb/descend stairs and stepladders.
- Responsible for operating professional warehousing and storage facilities, directing the operations of the warehouse, maintaining accurate stock levels and inventory adjustments, and receipt/record control for all equipment and supplies.
- Manages the accuracy of the Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FF&E) inventory for UH.
- Establishes and revises warehouse stock replenishment of recurring and non-recurring authorized NAF and APF inventory for the UH operation. Recognizes requirements, establishes and adjusts replenishments levels to keep stock position current.
- Receives deliveries and reviews receiving inspection reports from subordinates. Identifies discrepancies related to quantities, substitutes, incomplete shipments, or non-compliance with purchase order requirements.
- Conducts investigations of inventory discrepancies and researches source data tracking transactions to resolve errors and adjust book inventory accordingly.
- Perform internal management control studies, reviews to develop controls to prevent losses and implements cost saving measures. Processes planned inventory requirements and manages all cyclical inventory processes.
- Processes declared excess and damaged property for disposal and accurately documents the loss for audit trails. Coordinates the use of forklifts, trucks and personnel for proper disposal of government property according to established policies.
- Maintains accountability for all assigned FF&E. Ensures all changes, replacements or transfers of FF&E are completed properly, with documentation and information recorded.
- Supervises one or more warehouse staff and/or laborers, approves leave, conducts counseling and evaluations, and recommends personnel actions to supervisor.
- Incumbent is expected to obtain certification for asset management and/or inventory operations and meet the requirements outline in the Lodging Career Path Guide.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator’s license.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
