Self Service Policies/Requirements:
Valid Military or DoD ID card
Vehicle Registration/proof of ownership/notarized power of attorney
Vehicle being worked on must be owned by the valid Military or DoD ID card holder. Cardholder must sign in vehicle and be present at all times, when vehicle is being repaired.
Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times
Youth under 16 years of age are not allowed in the shop area or grounds
Shop patrons are responsible for cleaning area immediately after use, or immediately following a spill
Tools damaged during use is the responsiblity of the patron
The Auto Hobby Shop is not responsible for any damage to vehicles whether by fire, theft or any other means.
Security of property is the responsiblity of the patron.
DEPLOYED VEHICLE STORAGE
Deploying soon and don't know what to do with your car? Don't take a chance leaving your vehicle in a random parking lot. Your vehicle is kept in a secure, gated area (open air) with MWR's Deployed Vehicle Storage.
1- Bring your paperwork for your vehicle to the Auto Skills Center in the Moanalua Shopping Center (2641 Hennley Street).
(If your name is not on the paperwork you must also bring a notarized power of attorney stating that you may drop off the vehicle).
2- Fill out contract.
3- Set up a day for drop off. Drop offs are done Monday - Friday by appointment only.
4- Bring $ 30.00 for your first 30 (Thirty) days of storage.
5- Cost is $1.00 a day there after until you pick up your vehicle.
1- Have receipts (Copy of your storage agreement and paid receipt) ready.
2- Please do not bring vehicle under a ½ (half) tank of fuel.
3- Fill out key tag and tie keys to tag and attendant will tell you where to park your vehicle.
4- After Vehicle has been parked raise your hood, trunk or where your battery is located so that the battery can be disconnected.
5- Do a walk around your vehicle with attendant and mark any defects on vehicle.
6- Sign to verify mileage and defects.
7- Take your copy of the storage agreement.
8- Turn vehicle and keys over to the attendant.
9- Call your vehicle insurance company and tell them that you are going on DEPLOYMENT, that you have stored your vehicle in NAVY STORAGE and do you offer a discounted rate for insurance.
Picking Up Your Vehicle
1- Go to the Auto Skills Center to pay the balance.
(Unless your Point Of Contact for your command makes arrangements with the Auto Skills Center for a mass pick up)
2- Set up date for pick up. Pick ups are done by appointment only. Please call 471-9072 for an appointment.
3- Bring your receipt showing that your have cleared your contract to the storage facility.
(If your name is not on the contract you must also bring a notarized power of attorney stating that you may pick up the vehicle).
4- Call your vehicle insurance company letting them know your vehicle is back on the road.
Extension of Tour
If tour has been extended, please notify the Auto Skills Center of your extended tour.
If your Vehicle safety inspection expires while in storage, you may have a free vehicle safety inspection from the Auto Skills Center within seven days on your pick up. (Storage receipt must be shown to receive a free vehicle safety inspection).
