DEPLOYED VEHICLE STORAGE
Deploying or leaving soon and don't know what to do with your car? Don't take a chance leaving your vehicle in a random parking lot. Your vehicle is kept in a secure, gated area (open air) with MWR's Deployed Vehicle Storage.
Sign up for vehicle storage:
1 - Bring your vehicle insurance card and registration to the Auto Skills Center
- A notarized power of attorney stating that you may drop off the vehicle is required if your name is not on the registration and insurance card.
- Office hours of operation: Monday: 12pm-6pm; Thursday – Friday 12pm-6pm; Saturday-Sunday 9am-3pm; Closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Holidays.
2 - Fill out contract print hard and legible.
3 - Schedule a drop off date (Drop offs are by appointment only).
4 - $30.00 for the first 30 days of storage/administration fee which is nonrefundable due upon vehicle storage sign up.
5 - Vehicle Storage is $1.00 a day there after until your vehicle is picked up.
When vehicle is brought to storage facilities:
1 - Have receipts (Copy of your storage agreement and paid receipt) ready.
2 - Please do not bring vehicle under a 1/4 (quarter) tank of fuel.
3 - Fill out key tag and attach keys to tag.
4 - Attendant will direct you to where to park your vehicle, please face vehicle outward where the battery is located.
5 - After Vehicle has been parked, raise your hood, trunk or where your battery is located for the battery to be disconnected.
6 - Please stay with your vehicle to speed up the process.
7 - Walk around your vehicle with the ASC attendant and mark any defects on vehicle.
8 - Sign to verify mileage and defects.
9 - You will receive a copy of the storage agreement and the white copy; will be placed in your vehicle visor.
Turn vehicle and keys over to the attendant.
11 - Inform your vehicle insurance company of your DEPLOYMENT and that your vehicle is in NAVY STORAGE. (also ask if they offer discounted rates)
12 - Vehicle covers are not recommended.
13 - If vehicle cover comes off the cover will be disposed of.
14 - Make sure that you have a ride back to your command (check with your commands p.o.c for information on a duty vehicle if any).
Picking up your vehicle
1 - Check in at the Auto Skills Center Moanalua to make payment on any outstanding balances. (Mondays, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays). (Unless your commands point of contact arranged for a mass pick up with Auto Skills Center) Schedule a pickup date. (Pickups are done by appointments only).
2 - Bring your receipt showing that you have cleared your contract with the storage facility.
- A notarized power of attorney stating that you may pick up the vehicle is required if your name is not on the contract.
3 - Pick up your keys from MWR attendant and raise your hood or where ever battery is located and wait for attendant to hook up battery to start vehicle.
4 - Please stay with your vehicle to help speed up the process.
5 - Inform your vehicle insurance company your vehicle is back on the road.
6 - If vehicle needs air in tires or battery is dead, please notify MWR attendant for assistance.
7 - For vehicles unable to start, please contact a tow company to schedule a tow and schedule with the Auto Skills Center of your scheduled tow date and time. (Schedule your tow during pick up times).
8 - Individual pickups and drop offs are done Monday, Wednesday, Friday depending what lot you are at (Lot 43 1300 and N/L lot 1400) by appointment only. Payment to schedule a pick up and drop offs is only accepted on Mondays, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays at the Moanalua Auto Skills Center.
If tour has been extended
1 - Please notify the Auto Skills Center of your extended tour.
If your vehicle safety inspection expires while on deployment in our vehicle storage lots, Auto Skills Center (Moanalua) is offering a free vehicle safety inspection for deployed active duty personnel. This offer expires seven (7) days from pick up date. Bring your paid receipt to qualify.
