NOTICE: ALL CFL courses are cancelled, as per CNIC HQ, until after 31 July, 2020; CFL's must resubmit their CFL packages when requesting another course. This is due to the COVID-19 situation. Please refer to our COVID-19 tab for additional program updates.

This plan comes with a manual and exercise library to get you prepped.  Then it provides 3-day and 4-day workout plans for each week to give you flexibility in your schedule.  There's even a meal builder to help you reach your goals of weight loss, weight gain, or just maintenance.  It's not easy, but if you're ready to commit to it, you'll be up to the challenge!

Operational Facilitator's Course (OFC) - Certification course

Interested in becoming certified?  This course will enable you to be an instructor for the Operational series of OFFS (Operational Fitness and Fueling System).  This five day course will challenge you and provide you the opportunity to enhance your education and assist you and your command further.

Requirements: to register, you must have supervisor approval along with other pertinent signatures to attend (current CPR and one NCCA organization).

Eligibility: Open to all eligible MWR/FFR employees. All CFL's and ACFL's along with PTL's/APTL's (USAF) must meet the same requirements (NCCA certification, current CPR, and CO/OIC signature).

 

Command Fitness Leadership (CFL)
Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Oahu and PMRF, Kauai

FREE

Provides the basic fitness and nutrition tools to active duty Navy to go back to their respective commands and design fitness programs, facilitate classes and become ambassadors of fitness and nutrition. Open to all active duty Navy and Marines.

Registration: via CNIC. Please send all documents to cfltraining@navy.mil or call 202-433-4367.

Requirements: current CPR certification, Command designation letter, application (must be signed by CO), current PFA scores of "excellent" or "better".

Note: PMRF participants must arrange TDY through their unit. Contact 808-335-4983.

 

NOTE:  Important COVID-related updates:

1)As per NAVADMINS:  All sailors have been waived for Cycle 1 PFA and Cycle 2 PFA; suspension of all physical training; if mission essential, this will be requested up to Echelon/1st Flag officer for approval.

2)If the member needs to be advanced/retained in USN:  an “unofficial mock” can be accomplished (they must pass)-see NAVADMIN for specific testing procedures (in Downloads tab)

 

Reservation:

If a CFL/ACFL needs to conduct an “unofficial mock,” we are utilizing Pier Side Fitness Center, Bldg.#667, Monday-Friday, 0900-1000- (unofficially Sub-Base Fitness Center).  Commands conducting testing must email at least 48 hours prior to requested testing date.  Email reservations to:  Mark.mcfarland@navy.mil.  Due to COVID-19, this will be the only site at this time to conduct regional mock PFA’s.

CFL OPNAV N-170B Refresher Course

Mission Nutrition

JBPHH Fitness Center Classroom #1

This 16-hour course provides basic nutrition tips and fundamental information regarding portion sizes and servings.

Topics include nutrition of lifecycle, deployment nutrition, and sports nutrition. This class also fulfills the FEP Nutrition education.

Nutrition 101 - Virtual Class Dates

In this course, patients will learn about the role of nutrition in improving their health and applying these ideas to developing a healthy eating pattern.  They will understand the basic principles of macro & micro-nutrients and food energy density.

Classes will be held virtually at 10 a.m. on the following days.  Sign up is required.

Operational Fitness and Fueling Series (NOFFS/OFFS)

This functional-based training keeps our sailors and airmen fit to fight. This training provides nutrition and fitness instruction to decrease musculoskeletal injuries, increase retention, improve our operational readiness, and overall our mission success. Open to all active duty and their family members, and DoD ID cardholders.

 

TRX Suspension Training

JBPHH Fitness Center - Meet at TRX Suspension Frame

FREE
This is a functional training at its best! Get multiple workouts that engage the core with every repetition and utilize full body movements. Open to all active duty military and their family members, and DoD ID cardholders.

 

Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA)

JBPHH Fitness Center
The Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) is required for all active duty sailors to ensure that they are fit for readiness.
The PFA is broken down into two cycles:

  • Cycle 1: January 1 - June 30
  • Cycle 2: July 1 - December 31

The only authorized alternative cardio options are the following: Upright bike, motorized treadmill (with a 1% incline pre-set), and the swim (500 yards or 450 meters).  NOTE:  All alternative cardio options must be approved by the CO.
