Virtual NOFFS Challenge Sponsored by USAA

This virtual activity is sponsored by USAA.

Although the gyms are closed, and we have to stay home, you can still make time for a fitness routine. Join the NOFFS Challenge today! You will do two weeks of NOFFS workouts (a NOFFS workout each day) with an email on your start date, and a final email on your end date, stating "complete".

How Do You Join?

This is open to all valid DoD card holders. Download the NOFFS APP on an Iphone, Ipad or Android device!

Apple/IOS User Directions: Go to the "App Store" on your device and type in "NOFFS". Download the "operational" version first, if you are at an intermediate level, you could choose "strength" or "cardio". Advanced users can choose the "sandbag" version. Of course, you can download all four (4) versions of the app for future use. 

Rules for the 2-Week Program?

All participants will receive an incentive for completing the 2-week challenge. (Note: Incentives are to be determined by MWR).
After downloading the NOFFS App, to enter the challenge, you must email the following data to Mark McFarland (mark.mcfarland@navy.mil)

  • Name
  • Status (Active Duty, Reserves, Retiree, Dependent, DoD Civilian)
  • T-shirt size (there will be an incentive prize!)
  • Valid email
  • Send initial body weight in pounds/lbs.
  • Complete the NOFFS fitness program (this is a NOFFS workout every single day, for 2 weeks)
  • After you've completed, send a second email to Mark with your ending body weight, stating "complete"
  • Please include a phone number
  • Challenge extended to June 30, 2020

What is NOFFS?

Evidence based functional fitness training program designed for all levels. The main goal is to reduce/mitigate musculoskeletal injuries (i.e. sprains, strains and stress fractures). This program is for you; whether you want to maintain your weight, improve lean muscle mass, focus on cardiovascular or strength/power training, or you simply want a challenge. 

If you don't get a consistent workout each week, and/or workout less than three (3) days per week, it is recommended to start with a solid base in the "operational" program. Note: Our advanced "sandbag" training program is for those in austere environments and/or advanced levels of fitness.

What is the Goal of the 2-Week NOFFS Virtual Challenge?

The primary focus during COVID-19, is to continue social distancing, maintain your fitness level, and to provide a fun, safe activity. This program can fortunately be completed anywhere; your backyard, garage or any room in your house.
